When NOT to Take Protandim

Protandim is the greatest breakthrough of this generation. At LifeVantage, our goal is to share Protandim with every home in the world so people everywhere can turn on the genes that fight aging at its source. However, there are a few health situations in which taking Protandim is NOT recommended.

• Protandim is not recommended during chemotherapy or radiation therapy for cancer. Why?  Because, unlike most therapies, chemotherapy and radiation are designed to kill cells, not to protect them. These “therapies” kill cells by causing oxidative stress. The hope is that the cancer cells will be more vulnerable to the oxidative stress and will all be killed while at the same time, your normal healthy tissues will not be killed. Often the difference between the cancer cells’ susceptibility and the normal cells’ susceptibility is not very large and chemotherapy causes severe damage to the rest of the body as well, the non-cancerous part of the body.   

After cancer chemotherapy and radiation therapy, Protandim is then strongly recommended because the rest of the body then needs to repair itself and recover.

• Protandim is also not recommended for people taking Immunosuppressive drugs following a transplanted organ. Why? Normally, we all want to have a strong, robust immune system. But because the immune system is what helps you fight off viruses and bacteria, and other foreign substances, you don’t want a strong, robust immune system if you have just received an organ that is foreign to your body. If you do, your immune system can try to reject it--try to kill it the same as it would try to kill any invading microorganism. So, people who have undergone organ transplants or are on any Immunosuppressive drugs to turn down their immune system should wait to take Protandim until after they have discontinued their drugs. They should not take anything that will crank up their immune system and Protandim may do exactly that. And while this may not be ideal, it may help keep the newly transplanted organ.

Protandim is a very powerful product. So although our goal at LifeVantage is to share Protandim with every home in the world, there are situations where taking Protandim is not recommended. We just wanted to make you aware of them for your continued good health.
